Notch Cutting Tooling

CAE has extensive experience in providing top quality cutting dies for finishing extrusion. We have developed several standard cutting tools and stand ready to design your unique application. Listed below are several of our standard applications. Please contact us with your application.


Stab Dies
Our stab dies are based on standard die sets, or some applications are best served with our integral die design. These systems can be powered by air, hydraulic cylinders, or by electric motor-driven actuators. For ease of loading and good ergonomic practice, we position the die sets so the operator loads each position with the extrusion horizontal and oriented the same direction. Our stab die design is often used in our automated systems, where the die set is moved to position the extrusion and then actuated.

Cut & Notch While Molding
In order to lower labor costs and increase quality, CAE has developed cut-to-length and notching equipment that is positioned and integrated with corner molding equipment. When the operator loads the mold, they also load the end cut and notch tools. After the inspection process is complete, the cuts are made. The result is a finished part with less handling and less labor content.

Flat Profile Universal Notch Table
This is a machine that can be quickly and accurately retooled to produce multiple parts. If you produce flat seals for under the hood or auxiliary door or fender seals, this machine can save capital investments and offer the flexibility required by today's business climate.

Cut to Length Equipment
CAE offers several standard cut-to-length systems, including incline strip cutting and offline finish cutting. Our inline systems include a very accurate, heavy-duty system for flexible extrusion and a traveling system for rigid extrusion. This traveling system can also be tooled with special die sets to cut and notch online! Our finishing cut-to-length systems include layout tables that can include stiffening plug installation and our low cost, efficient manual double-cut saw. This double-cut saw is a fast, low cost way to get two fresh cut ends. This system is easily retooled to cut additional products, giving your investment extended life.
